It’s no secret that taking a folding camp chair along on your camping trip will make things much more comfortable for you. Anyone who’s ever tried to get comfortable on wet, cold ground, or tried sitting on the side of a log, can tell you that having a camping chair to sit on would have made things much more comfortable. But the beauty of folding camping chairs is that they are useful in lots of other situations than just camping. Let’s take a look at some of them.

Sporting Events – Bless my parents’ hearts. They came to every single one of my track meets in high school, despite the fact that there’s not a whole lot of entertainment to be had watching a group of teenage guys run in circles for several hours on end. But at least they were comfortable watching us, as they always had the foresight to bring their camp chairs along with them to the meets.

Tailgating – Speaking of sporting events, down here in the South tailgating is a big part of just about every college and pro football game in the fall. Half of the crowd for the game gets to the stadium hours before kickoff, and everyone pulls out their coolers and grills and has a big party before the game starts. Eating BBQ off a paper plate sure is easier when you have some place to sit down, wouldn’t you say? You can even find camping table and chairs sets that would make this even easier.

Outdoor Concerts – Whether you’re heading to see Dave Matthews or a symphony concert for the 4th of July, having a place to sit down will certainly make the evening more enjoyable. This is doubly true if you’re going to get there early to save a good spot. You don’t want to be standing around for hours before the concert even starts. Bring along a couple of Coleman camping chairs, and you’re set.

Store Openings – One of my college roommates camped outside of Best Buy all night when the PS3 was released in order to get one of the first consoles that they sold. In fact, by morning the line was so long that the store sold out before everyone was able to get one. My friend borrowed my camping folding chair for the night and was definitely glad that he did. The thought of spending all night in the cold, trying to get comfortable on a concrete sidewalk doesn’t sound like good times to me.
